I Eyed

Different and calm

So did quiet emotions come

Washing me with queer agapeness

Looking away, my eyes returned

Fragile and tranquil

Flown by a driven wheel

For I eyed

Unpardoned passion

A center of deepened  devotion

To the sweetness of life

No, my eyes not lied

She speaks into souls

Fills volumes into broken holes

Her Heart must be a home

Look at her eyes follow

I eyed

A strong woman

True to her African human

Wearing with it wit

A steel self belief in every bit

A laughter

Spread inside her

In sparkling clusters

Stop here

Look at where

Her lids lead

Tell me your emotions don’t bleed

Just what mine did

When her I eyed
